About Christie

I have twenty years experience in the dance industry and as a dance instructor. I have taught and choreographed all over the world and am thrilled to be back in my home town of North Vancouver.

For the last nine years I have been based in the UK and Europe teaching, choreographing, training dancers, and performing. Some of my credits include: The Moulin Rouge in Paris, Mamma Mia! The Movie, The Brit Awards, and Norwegian Cruise Lines. Since 2012, I have been part of the creative team for the Thursford Christmas Spectacular, the largest show of its kind in the UK and Europe. My team manages, trains and choreographs a cast of 130 professional singers, dancers and musicians and successfully deliver shows seen by over 130,000 people per year. For a complete list of my credits click here.

I have been a regular teacher at many schools over the years in London, UK, Vancouver and the Okanagan. Most recently I was one of the core group of ballet teachers and ran the musical theatre program at The Ballet School in Notting Hill, London. The Ballet School has strong affiliations with the Royal Academy of Dancing as well as the Royal Ballet. I continue to guest teach for them when abroad and help create all their shows. I was also a teacher at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in London for 7 years and still go back as a guest dance teacher. In Canada I have taught and choreographed in all styles for several competitive Okanagan schools, studios in Prince Rupert, as well local competitive schools in North Vancouver and Vancouver.

I did the majority of my training in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop. lyrical and musical theatre here in North Vancouver. I began my career teaching and performing locally then moved abroad to pursue other dance opportunities in 2005. I have experience teaching children as young as 3 years old up to adult, beginners to professional, boys and girls, and classes large and small.

I am passionate about dance. I am very confident in my expertise as a teacher and choreographer. I pride myself in not only instilling excellent technique but also encouraging performance and the love of dance. It is important to me that every child has a place to be creative, be active, and to learn all while having fun! The friendships I made, and the life skills I gained through dance are my most treasured.

I look forward to dancing with you!
